Vintage is the 'shabby chic' variant within our extensive collection of colored cutlery. It has been on the market since 2002 and is now available in 11 colors and 20 cutlery items. The material of the handles is colored and treated in such a way that it looks slightly weathered. The light stripes in the material enhance this effect. But don't let this shabby look fool you: the materials and the finish are of high quality, and that shows! Make it a colorful mess by combining colors, or keep it relaxed but tasteful at the table.

The 2-piece set is for 1 person and consists of 1 fish knife and 1 fish fork. Each cutlery item consists of a stainless steel blade, a plastic (PBT) handle and an aluminium ornament in the middle. The materials are of very solid quality. The blade is 2.0 mm thick, does not bend and is made of 18/10 stainless steel. The handle is made of plastic with a slightly weathered effect. The colour will not wear off because it is applied throughout the entire handle (and not as a thin coating on the surface).

The blade of the fish knife has a pointed end, which can be used to remove bones. In addition, the blade is blunt instead of sharp. This prevents bones from accidentally being cut into smaller pieces. The wide blade also ensures that the skin of the fish can be removed more easily from the cooked fish meat.

The fish fork has 3 points instead of 4 like regular forks. Also, the points of the fish fork are slightly further apart and wider. All this makes it easy to remove and eat pieces of cooked fish.

The fish cutlery is intended for cooked and boiled fish dishes. It is unsuitable for raw fish dishes because the knives are blunt and cut less well.

The cutlery is dishwasher safe. We recommend washing it at a maximum temperature of 55˚ C.

Technical information handle:

PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) is a polyester thermoplastic of high strength, stiffness and hardness. This plastic is wear-resistant and resistant to high operating temperatures. The handles of this cutlery are also reinforced with glass fibre.

Technical information blade:

AISI 430 is a stainless steel type to which chromium has been added. This type of steel is often used for cutlery because it can be shaped well (spoons and forks), has a strong gloss layer and does not rust quickly.

AISI 420 is a stronger stainless steel type to which carbon has been added in addition to chromium. This steel is less easy to bend and is very suitable for making knives. With a heat treatment, this steel is extra hardened (HRC52/56) so that the cutting edge is less likely to be damaged and stays sharp for longer. It is also highly resistant to rust formation.

HRC52/56 is the standard used to indicate the hardness of steel. This type of steel will not break easily and is less susceptible to rust formation.

18/10 stainless steel is a type of steel to which 18% chromium and 10% nickel have been added. Chromium gives the steel a durable shiny finish and nickel protects against rust. There are also types of cutlery steel (18/8 and 18/0) to which less or almost no nickel has been added. These are slightly less resistant to rust.
