Brasserie Fish Cutlery 12-piece Ivory

Who isn't familiar with those typical Parisian brasseries with their lively streetside terraces? They're the meeting place for celebrities, where they come for a good cup of coffee or a traditional French meal. Throughout the day, there's a constant coming and going. The service is fast, professional, and sometimes a little curt. The small tables are stylishly set with beautiful white damask. The decor is informal yet simultaneously exudes class. It exudes the atmosphere of the Belle Époque—the era of optimism, elegance, and progress. This cutlery perfectly suits this setting: cheerful, elegant, and informal.

The 12-piece set serves 6 people and includes 6 fish knives and 6 fish forks. Each piece features a stainless steel blade, a plastic handle, and an aluminum ornament in the center. The materials are of excellent quality. The blade is 1.5 mm thick, resistant to bending, and made of 18/10 stainless steel. The handle is made of plastic. The color will not wear off because it is applied throughout the entire handle (and not as a thin coating on the surface).

The fish knife's blade has a pointed end, which allows for the removal of bones. It's also blunt, not sharp. This prevents bones from accidentally being cut into smaller pieces. The wide blade also makes it easier to separate the fish skin from the cooked flesh.

The fish fork has three prongs instead of the four prongs of regular forks. The prongs are also slightly wider and spaced further apart. This makes it easier to remove and eat cooked fish.

The fish cutlery is intended for cooked and boiled fish dishes. It is not suitable for raw fish dishes because the blades are blunt and cut less effectively.

The cutlery is dishwasher safe. We recommend washing it at a maximum temperature of 55˚ C.

Technical information handle:

PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) is a polyester thermoplastic with high strength, stiffness, and hardness. This plastic is wear-resistant and resistant to high operating temperatures. The handles of this cutlery are also reinforced with fiberglass.

Technical information blade:

AISI 430 is a stainless steel with added chromium. This steel is often used for cutlery because it is easy to shape (spoons and forks), has a strong sheen, and doesn't rust easily.

AISI 420 is a stronger stainless steel to which carbon has been added in addition to chromium. This steel is less easily bent and is very suitable for knife making. Heat treatment hardens this steel (HRC52/56), which means the cutting edge is less likely to be damaged and stays sharper longer. It is also highly resistant to rust formation.

HRC52/56 is the standard used to indicate the hardness of steel. This type of steel is less susceptible to breaking and rust formation.

18/10 stainless steel is a type of steel with an added 18% chromium and 10% nickel. Chromium gives the steel a durable, glossy finish, and nickel protects against rust. There are also cutlery steels (18/8 and 18/0) with less or almost no nickel added. These are slightly less resistant to rust.
